d3d9 AnimationSet?
I was just browsing through the managed dx9 docs and I see in the class list a AnimationController, an AnimationSet and a few classes dealing with Hierarchy''s...does anyone know where I can get some real docs on these? (ie not just a 5 word description, but actual details)
I couldn''t find any of the C# samples that use them, so are we just suppose to use trial and error? I want to load a mesh with bones and animation tracks and then play them. I assume that these classes help with that, but when I only have descriptions like "Creates an animation set, given a set of interpolators." It''s a little hard to figure it out.
Has anyone used these?
Yeah I tried finding docs on these too. None available on google search. And it appears none of the SDK samples use these interfaces to their full capacity either...
After browsing the SDK docs it looks like ID3DXAnimationController can be used for blending multiple AnimationSets together for smooth animation transitions!
Havent figured out how to use em yet tho.

ok, I''ve been reading through d3dx9anim.h and got infinately more information on the new interfaces than the doc''s provide, however having never done animation before it''s all greek to me.
Does anyone know anything about doing animation/skinning with X files? It would be very helpful if you could enlighten me.

The only info I have ever seen using animation with X files is in Jim Adams'' book Programming RPG with DirectX. This has fairly good coverage of the subject.

Doesn''t use the new DX9 interfaces but might help explain animations better.
