We all know that vertex shaders and pixel shaders are low-level language, and maybe are a little bit difficult to learn. NUIDIA say cg is a good choice. Can anyone tell me that Cg Compiler a good choice??? Regards, Tomwindcloud

Or use HLSL which is in DX9 which works in a very similar way.

There''s a chance that you''ll get the best performance for nVidia chips if you use Cg - however, whether you get good performance on other manufacturers chips using Cg is currently subject to much debate (not surprisingly mainly between ATI and nVidia representatives - learning how much is politics and how much is reality is what you need to do).

I''d say either is a good thing, though the neutrality of HLSL would probably mean the best _average_ performance - have to wait for someone to publish some fair benchmarks to be sure though.
