Anyone out there using ODE ? (its a 3d physics engine open source) or any of the other physic engines? The other two are like $10,000 or so. As a hobby I can not afford to look at them. Anyone out there with a strong interest in 3d physic engines please reply. Id like to learn more about them but I see very little talk about them. Seems to me that shaders and 3d physics are going to play a larger role in upcoming games

There''s dynamics too...
Just saw a link around here somewhere...oh well - try google.

Both ODE and Dynamics looks quite good - and the example stuff I''ve seen on the net is great.

gameplay hasnt played a role since atari 2600

back then you had 16 pixels to make a figure with

3d dynamics(physics) will help gameplay since where things fall will not have to be pre programmed and opens up new possibilities
