Loading Models Tutorials...

Hi, are there any good tutorials out there to load a model (*.x, *.3ds, etc.) and render it via Direct3D7?
(im not using Immediator Mode, ut I would not care implementing its model-load functionality)
Would be nice if anyone could post them here...

if one is not using immediate mode, which mode *are* they using?
i was under the impression that they ditched retained mode with directx and IM was your only choice :S?
Well he did say that he was using Direct3D7 which is the last version that still implemented the retained mode...
