For the degree paper...

I want to build a simple 3d engine for my degree paper.Until now I am between C and OpenGL or C# and DirectX 9.However I do take into consideration things like:What future does C has and OpenGL since no updates are made for it(where is OGL 2.0 ???)?Will game companies embrace C#?How easy is to make the engine with C# and DX9?In the long run what will help me more? Seeing also that OGL isnt advancing when DX is getting newer and newer version''s makes me wonder all together. Please no flame just your opinion.

OpenGL DOES advance when vendors come out with new extensions i.e. whenever they come out with a new card.

OGL 2.0 is on the way but is still a little bit off.

As for C not changing, that''s a good thing; then it''s considered a stable language. Plus, changing standards around is not the best way to encourage conformity.
