I see a lot of people offering money once their project is done, so i just wondering how many of these projects actually reach a point where they can be making money? And how many people out there actually willing to pay for them???

I´d guess about .02%, and that´s me being optimistic. I know very few serious developers offering a percentage to their employees - those that have to offer shares of the revenue usually have no money to begin with. Some studios however do offer an additional percentage, but these too guarantee a monthly minimum (which is enough to live by).

Usually talented and skilled people cost money, and if you´re serious about a project you´ll go out, find investors, get an office and hire said talented people. That´s how it´s usually done. If you´re a 15yr old kid however trying to make the MMORPG that´s going to topple Everquest that is obviously not an option.

I didn´t say that working in the gaming business was out of the question, just making games as you described..
