I am making a Sumarai Showdown type game and I would like to know what is the top-of-the-line Graphics tool that I could use to model, create, and animate such grahics like in Sumarai Showdown, Mortal Combat, etc. BTW I am using WinXP with DirX8 [edited by - rlcombs on December 27, 2002 8:36:44 AM]

MSPaint works very well for most images/sprites of smaller than 64x64, in my experience. Or, if you want a bit more quality, grab Adobe Photoshop.

If by "model" you mean a model of vertices and not one of rasterized pixels, try GMax, the much cheaper version of 3DSMax (go to Discreet''s website).

Or, there is a selection of "Samurai Showdown"-esqe graphics in Ari Feldman''s SpriteLib (you gotta go through a little email back-and-forth to get the password for the ZIP file, but it is worth it)
