A Question About Pointers In C++

Can anyone explain me how does the pointers work? And for what can I use them? Or does anyone know the good sites where this topic is explained for those, who started working in C++?

In case you''re wondering why I use C instead of C++... Pointers work exactly the same in C and C++. (Except for some special cases you probably don''t need to know until you feel more comfortable with pointers anyways...)
