Hey! What is the theory behind "unwrapping" of spherical projections, I''ve got input from a image that is a photograph of a lightprobe (its for lightning data). I crop the image as a circle from the middle of it. Now, I want to generate a new image which is the rectangular projection of the image. So what''s the trick? All kind of feedback is welcome! - Joda

actually i was searching for the inverse thing -> cartesian to spherical.. it seems difficult to me, cos the pixels at the edge of the sphere can come from "behind" the sphere.

anyway, i could transform spherical to cartesian, but i doubt if it would look good.. you could do linear scaling on the rays.

someone please enlighten us to a better way =)
