Hey everyone , im new to DX and want to know the differences between d3d8 and d3d9. What are the real differences? Is the syntax completely different? And just say that I learn d3d8, how hard is it to convert to d3d9?? Any help on this matter would be great!

Differences between 8 and 9 are minor, but there are some new API features such as high level shading language, pixelshader 2 support, some new D3DX functions, etc.

Converting from 8 to 9 it is a piece of cake if you have nice code.
