Isometric Rendering...

All right guru type people... help a guy out... How do you render isometricly? I''ve looked for plugins. I''ve looked for software packages. etc. etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Joe Geek

Chouse an angle and render all objects from that angle, there is no isometric render plug-in (you fool
Most games use an angle of about 2/3 from normal (about 60 degrees)

You have two choices. In 3D you position your camera (the viewpoint the player sees) so that you world looks isometric. In 2D the standard way is blit diamond shape tiles and put them together to create the isometric view. Now, there are of course variances of both. However, there are some excellent articles on both methods (2d-3d) and I suggest you check them out. I''m assuming, though, you have some knowledge of Direct Draw and/or Direct3D/OpenGL. If you lack in your graphics API knowledge I would suggest getting familiar with those first.
