Greetings all, Alright, I just got a copy of Visual Studio 6. When I start VC++ I have no clue about where to even begin. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks, Joe Kerlin

reading *the manual* might be one idea.

I don''t have one. I bought the program from a friend that didn''t need it anymore. He didn''t have the manual, only the program.

create a new project. (probably an empty project) if youre new to c++ then you will want a win32 console application

then you will need to add files, on the left of the workspace, go to file veiw, then right click the Source Files folder and select add file to folder, type in a name ie, main.cpp

once done then expend the source files folder and double click the main.cpp file and click yes when it asks if you want to create the file.

then write code if you know how, if not then buy/download a book.

If you have a working knowedge of C++, I''d either get "The Zen of Direct3d Programming" or "Windows API Programming 5th Edition" The first book intro''s you into windows programming and then to game programming. Descent book for beginners. The second is the definitive guide for Win32 API.

If you have no C++ knowedge at all, go get a "C++ for Dummies" or something along those lines. And then move up to the afore mentioned books.
