sorry to sound like such a noob, but ive downloaded the DX9 sdk, and the executable keeps locking my system up. is it enumerating my OS and locking up because i still have DX8 installed? or do you think i have a corrupt .exe and just need to re-download. I''d normally just redownload and try again before posting but it is such a large file i was hoping to save some time. Im a bit scared to uninstall the DX8 SDK till i have the DX9 SDK going, because i dont want to miss any Dev time. thanks for any info.

its not necessary to install the sdk.

just open it in winzip and extract the libs and headers folders.

Just extract the libs and headers? What kind of crap is that, are you listening to your words?

The best choice you have is try the exe on another machine (burn it to a cd) to see if it is corrupt. Also, what is your OS? I had some problems with the Un-Serviced packed Windows2000, you might want to upgrade to XP.
