Dear All, I''m not a artist, and I don''t even own the software in question(3DMax). However, I''m working on a game project, and the artist, is technicaly inept. We want to make the textures paths that he save relative to the directory they are in. What he has right now, is a hard coded directory that won''t do at all. I know he could change the directory, but we are not always going to know the directory the art is in till run time. Does anyone here know the steps you have to go though to get the paths set relative to where the file is? The artist is using 3D Max 5, and the M$ X file converter. Any help would be greatly appricated. Jesse

if you get the x-file exporter plug-in from microsoft.com that comes with directx9.0, it supports max5 and has a check box that allows relative texture paths. hopes this helps, just got it today.

If you have the compiled version could you send it to me? I'd really appricate it, as I don't have the 3D MAX SDK(can I use it without 3d max?). Thanks,
Jesse
