Converting VC++ Libs to Mingw

Ok a couple of months ago I remember reading a post about how to convert a VC++ lib into one that''ll work with Mingw and someone posted a link to a tool that could do it. I don''t suppose anyone has the link(Yes I''ve tried google)

there''s a tool you can use to generate .a files from .dlls (found on google).

as far as non-import libraries go:
- you probably won''t be able to reference c++ (mangled) functions, including class members, because of different name mangling schemes
- you can extract .obj files from .lib and try to link against them directly (need lib.exe from msvc, though)
