.3ds to .x how

ok i am looking for info on how to make 3d objects in 3ds that when exported will have textures and everything. i have made a ship useing simple box and extrudin the faces to make it and then made a texture for it and used unwrap uvh thing to map the faces to the texture but when i export it it was black so i messed with thing (guessed and then ckecked) and found that the norms where reversed and so i went back into 3ds and fliped the norms, exported it and loaded it again with meshview program that came with dx9 sdk and it was textured find but really really bright. so i tryed making a CUBE that was texture and it wont work at all fliped norms and all. So i want a tutoral on how to use 3ds to make things for dx or .x format. ps i haven''t sleeped in like 36 hrs so sorry if i spell stuff wrong. Im a Idiot Savant without the Savant
