wondering how to make a textbox where you can append data without losing data already there using the windows api. I don't want to use mfc. Do i simply realloc more memory everytime i wanna dump more text and do a setwindowtext command? =/ - i'm not thinking so. Thanks andy [edited by - skillfreak on February 1, 2003 12:17:26 PM]

If I''m understanding what you want correctly, I would just use a large string to hold the text in the box, and just append all the text to this buffer.

Then you can just keep updating the text box using the buffer.

If you don''t know the maximum amount of data the buffer will hold, you could just dynamically allocate more memory for the string everytime more text needs to be appended.
