Hello all, I''m writing an application that will require a selection indicator over a potentially rough/uneven section of land (land surveyor type application).. I''m looking to accomplish the effect the trainz land surveyor has (http://www.auran.com/trainz, you can see a sample of what im trying to accomplish at this link http://www.auran.com/trainz/moviez/th_surveyor1.jpg) My problem is in determining the best way to do a circular "selection indicator" that would mold to the land.. ive noticed that the trainz indicator is not perfect but it serves its purpose.. If anyone has any suggestions they are very much welcomed. Thanks! Nat

Find the points that you want to draw. What i would do is use sin/cos functions to find a ring of points, then find the closest point on the height map. Once you have the xyz values for the points, simply draw a line loop
