Hi! Does anybody know how to implement volumetric lights in direct3d? I mean those light that can be seen in Unreal game. And also any idea or source code on generating volumetric fog? Thank you very much Jakub

well, i''d like to ''hitchhike'' a question: how are volumetric effects actually created in theory? are volumetric fogs and lights handled the same way?

Try the dx9 volumetric lights Sample on
http://esprit.campus.luth.se/%7ehumus/
it is in vs 2.0(can be software) so it may run on much hardware(re-compile)

volumetric lights are a complicated effect, it''s not like you can do d3d->VolumetricLightsPlease();

Just use your brain, and you will figure out how it works..
hint: the most common technique uses the destination alpha channel to store and process Z values.
