Fast Line Drawing

I am currently using a line drawing algorithm I found in the book "Graphics Gems". It is the Symmetric Double Step Algorithm. Does anyone know of a faster algorithm? Thanks. Justin

I was looking at the original asteroids game and I noticed that the lines they used are very smooth and clean. My algorithm is producing very jagged lines. In asteroids it looks like they are antialiased.

Use Wu''s anti-aliased line algorithim. It produces results similar to what you see in Asteroids. You can find an implementation of this in CDX (DirectX wrapper) on www.sourceforge.com, search for CDX.

That is exactly the algorithm I used. I found it in Abrash''s Black Book. Having a little difficulty getting the antialiasing perfect with 16 bit color. Abrash''s implementation used an 8 bit pallette. Thanks for the help.
