I just looked for a very simple X program then did

It was fun to do....

Xlib is a very powerful low-level (networked) graphics language for UNIX. Compared to Window''s low-level graphics
language is much simpler.

The bad news is that there are no tutorials on the net,
I learned it the same way Godfree did. I was recommended
the ORA XLib programming book, however I never read it.
You may want to look for it at your local book store if you
are serious about Xlib.

You do need some Xlib knowlage if you want to write OpenGL
since GLX (X lowlevel compoent of OpenGL) is based on it.
