Hi, if i load more than 18 512*512sized textures, i get the following error: A messagebox appears which sais: Microsoft Visual C++ debug library Debug Assertion failed File: dbgheap.c Line: 346 Expression _CrtCheckMemory() This message only appears, if i load more than 18. everything less than 18 works. I load my textures with D3DXCreateTextureFromFileEx(...). where could be the reason for this error? thx thebutcha

My first guess would be that you ran out of memory. It might be that you are designating video memory or AGP memory which can be filled up. If you create your textures in system memory, it may use swapfile, but of course, that is a slow option.
