Is there any place where I could find decent Octree Theory? I''m sick of flipCodes "I know and you don''t LOEL I''m cool ur not: Now I shall write incomplete document and call it an article" tutorials. Now I''ve been to google and looked for the theory and I have the gametutorials.com octree tutorials, which are decent, but I''m failing to port them on java and understanding them(way too many pointers and really shady oop), and I can''t get the whole picture from it. I have figured out the data structure, currently I have a node structure, where every part of the octree is a node, but what is missing is how to divide the polygons in memory efficient way between the nodes. Now call me stupid, but getting the gametutorials code to work is not enough, I want to understand it. Has anyone written or does anyone have link to a *COMPLETE* octree theory document. I don''t need any source code or anything like that, just the basic idea what to do. I can test the octrees against my frustum, but I can not get the idea how to divide the vertexes/triangles.

http://www.acm.org/tog/resources/RTNews/html/index.html and look for "octree".

In general, http://www.acm.org/tog/resources is a good place to start for data structures / algorithms.
