Generating an ID3DXMesh from my own data

Obtaining an ID3DXMesh instance from a .X file is easy to do with Direct3D since all the hard work is already done for you. I was wondering, however, if it is at all possible to create an ID3DXMesh instance and store my own data in the mesh instead of loading it from a .X file? The reason is that I use custom file formats that I load, but I''d like to use the same ID3DXMesh interface and functionality for all my meshes. Is there a way to do this? Thanks!

Sure you can!!
Just look up the D3DXCreateMesh or D3DXCreateMeshFVF functions. Those are what you are looking for. Then once you have the mesh created you can then populate it with your vertex and index data.
