Best Directx books?
What are some of the better DirectX books you guy''s have bought and would suggest? I don''t plan to do any Direct3D programming, just 2D ddraw stuff.
Tricks of the Windows Game Programming Gurus
by Andre LaMothe
(highly recommended, you will probably need to order a replacement CD though, because some files were corrupted)

I can´t comment on "Tricks of the Windows...bla bla bla.."
I have two DirectX books..
"Inside DirectX" and
"DirectX Complete".
The first mentioned was far better than the second.
"Teach yourself DirectX 7 in 24 hours" look ok too, despite the lame titel.

I agree with the Tricks of the windows game programming gurus - 2D and 3D funamentals.
This is an excellent book on the topic. It''s sometimes a bit complex for the c++ beginner. But that you could fix with a book on just c++.
5 stars from me.

I found that lamothe''s previous books, (tricks of the game programming gurus, etc.) were more ... C oriented, rather than using C++ classes and such.
Do his new books improve on this by using a more object oriented approach?
