You have to be really careful, start searching Google for "royalty free samples" and other variants on that, and once you find a site, make sure it says, on the site, that the sampel sor royalty free for any music productions, and then email the webmaster to -verify- that all samples are usable in your productions. In the end, if you''re not sure, delete them.

Good luck. I''ve been collecting royaly free samples for 4 years now, and are brimming just below 5 gigs of usable ones.
Collecting from Royalty Free CDs, or take a search from major FTPs, in mast cases I extract samples from free SF2/DLSes.

Take a search on Google and you should get many.
MicroMan, MicroJackson.....
The best option is to get some synthesizer software and make your own. Using other peoples samples is always a bad thing IMO, especially when synthesizing or sampling your own is so easy.

Damn big SoundFont source download, if you have money, support them by ordering their CD set, that also help you get rid from long downloading.

I can recommend www.primesounds.com
Its not free but cheap. And all samples are cleared.
For the price of a sample CD you can sign up for a year.
I find it very usefull. They have all kinds of formats: Gig, halion, sf2, wav, rex etc...
