Hello - if my opengl program is made up of many hundreds of 3d shapes, what would render quicker using my 3d graphics card: A 3 sided triangle or a 4 sided quad - most of the sides of the shapes are made up of 4 sided squares. cheers !!!

Triangles or tri-strips would probably be your best bet. Most opengl drivers like display lists (of CVAs if you can get them) of triangles in strip order. If you''re on a GeForce, having the actual strips should be faster.
