Is there Anybody done a Q3 .BSP file loader program?

I wonder how to do the lightmap.I know it is multi-texture,and the lightmap should created in memory,my key problem is how to create the empty lightmap texture(with what bit format) and how to place the imagebits into the locked texture''s rect. thanks. We create world.

kimryo ,loooooooots of guys have written a Quake3 .BSP loader to some extent . Google for "quake 3 level viewer" and u''ll find lot''s of pages - at the same time , most are open source .
