If you can afford it ($60USD) Windows Graphics Programming by Feng Yuan on Hewlett-Packard Professional Books is well worth the money.

It''s pricey($50 U.S.), but "Programming Windows" by Charles Petzold is an excellent book. It''s published by Microsoft Press so your Win32 needs will be met. It''ll cover everything you need to know about the Win32 API include GDI. I recommend this book to any- and everyone I come across. It is a fantastic reference as well. I''ve opened it so many times, it''s pages are falling out.

Petzolds book can actually be found online... It''s an ebook...

I use it like it''s my bible.. just search on google for Petzold and .chm, a link to download it will show up eventually, It''s only about 4mb. It''s great!
