creating resource files in .net

Recommended Posts

I get an error stating that the following .h file ends unexpectedly...I'm writing these in editpad not the native tool in .net as I'm not entirely comfortable with it yet. WinMenuRes.h

//defines for the top level menu FILE

#define MENU_FILE_ID_OPEN       1000

#define MENU_FILE_ID_CLOSE      1001

#define MENU_FILE_ID_SAVE       1002

#define MENU_FILE_ID_EXIT       1003

//defines for the top level menu HELP

#define MENU_HELP_ID_ABOUT      2000

WinMenu.rc

#include "WinMenuRes.h"

MainMenu MENU DISCARDABLE
{
    POPUP "File"
    {
        MENUITEM "Open",  MENU_FILE_ID_OPEN
        MENUITEM "Close", MENU_FILE_ID_CLOSE
        MENUITEM "Save",  MENU_FILE_ID_SAVE
        MENUITEM "Exit",  MENU_FILE_ID_EXIT
    } //end popup

    POPUP "Help"
    {
        MENUITEM "About",  MENU_HELP_ID_ABOUT
    } //end popup

} //end top level menu

I'm not sure what exactly I've done wrong as these are straight out of Lamothe's totwgpg. Thanks in advance. [edited by - kordova on March 3, 2003 5:48:46 PM]

1: always post complete error messages if you're asking for help with them.

2: add an empty line at the end of the resource and/or header file. if you go to the help page for the error (f1 on the line with the error in task list), you should see this as one of the reasons.
