Well, I was building something, and I divided my boxes into TONS of segments, well, now Im rendering my mesh with DirectX and it takes forever! I know why, its b/c theres so many polygons its trying to render. Well basically, I have a bunch of boxes. and the face is divided into many rectangles on each face. How do I get those back into one rectangle for the face? thanks SO MUCH!

i have never tested 3ds max.i am truespace user.in truespace there is a button for polygon reduction...
another way is to do this manually by point edit:select the edge you want to delete, and delete it...
the first way could cause some bad looking results, while the second way is a lot of work...

so the best way is to model the stuff in low polygons from the beginning ... ;-)

...or just delete all those faces then use the ''create faces'' option to create on big one

I''ll say the same thing here I said at your cross-post in the "For Beginners" forum:

Perhaps you should take a course. These are basic things that anyone who was willing to invest the some $3000 USD should know how to do.

Or take the "good for health" tutorial 3DS includes in its second CD...
