Billboarding

I''m trying to implement billboarding in a 3D scene, and it works if you look directly at the object from anywhere in the scene, but if you look away, the image stretches to fill the side of the scree you looked to, what''s going on? Here''s my Code: D3DXMatrixIdentity(&matWorld); lpD3DDevice->GetTransform(D3DTS_VIEW,&matView); D3DXMatrixTranspose(&matWorld,&matView); lpD3DDevice->SetTransform(D3DTS_WORLD, &matWorld); lpD3DDevice->SetTexture( 0, Texture ); lpD3DDevice->DrawPrimitive(D3DPT_TRIANGLEFAN, 0, 2); Thanks for any help you can give me.
