Stencil Buffer Woes

Hello, I''m trying to get rid of some alpha blending uglies using the stencil buffer, and I can''t get the stencil buffer to do ANYTHING.... Shouldn''t this, in theory, ''cause nothing to be drawn? glEnable(GL_STENCIL_TEST); glStencilMask(0xff); glClearStencil(0); glClear(GL_STENCIL_BUFFER_BIT); glStencilFunc( GL_NEVER, 1, 1); glStencilOp( GL_KEEP, GL_KEEP, GL_KEEP); I put that right before my rendering code, and nothing happens.. everything gets drawn the same as it would. I''ve tried changing all the stencil stuff around in every way I could think of, just to see if SOMETHING would happen, but nothing has... My vid-card is a GeForce 1, so I know there''s a stencil buffer on it.....

Just a guess, but did you actually request to /have/ a stencil buffer of any depth? [cStencilBits of PIXELFORMATDESCRIPTOR struct...]
