BaryCentric coordinates??

Can anybody explain me what exactly the BaryCentric coordinates are (returned by D3DXIntersect) and how they can be used to compute the texture coordinate on which the ray hit the triangle? i tried to figure it out from the sdk help and the pick sample but i just don''t get it.
