Game Menu's

Most games probably have the menu as part of the same executable. This is better, but may be harder to code. You could do it with seperate executables, having the menu open the game and pass in parameters, but you''d wanna make sure there remains as constant an environment as possble, ie. no dropping to desktop temporarily. Your choice!

Its really not that hard to make your own menu system. A menu works in 2d coordinates, so its easy as hell to do collision (mouse button press, mouse over button, etc..) and other menu related coding...

A good start is to make a base class for all your menu elements, think of what all menu elements have in common (buttons, images, listbox, textbox, radio button, etc...)

then just derive a class for each of these and add object-specific code.
