DSound Streaming Problem, weird one

i''ve written a class to play large sound file (streamed one) as game background music. it works fine when in test version, that is, only the music is playing. i even added ''loop'' ability to the class. . the problem comes when i add some sound effects (just using a single dsound buffer, so no streaming needed) to play together with the background music : it seems that the sound effects will affect the background music and cause it to play unsmoothly, i dont know where the problem is. does anyone know why it occurs? thank you. im using WaitForSingleObject For Notification the buffered sound is about 1.5s and i divided it into 16 pieces. the sound format is 22050Hz, 16 Bits, stereo.
