opengl books

i wanted to know from the opengl gurus out there, which books are recommendable for beginners, but are still excellent for ''gurus''..i f there is a book that doesn''t hold my hand on every page, then thats good..lol..i hear a lot about the red and blue book..are these real good? (usefule?) thanks a lot paneb

If you were to ask my opinion I would say stay away from any OpenGl book that uses GLUT. Just my two cents

do these 2 books use glut? is there a book that''s like a reference manual, except there are some example not just for newbies? something that good to look at to get some info about any function for example or flags..
The red book covers virtually every aspect of opengl, but it uses glut. The opengl superbible is also good, but that too uses glut. I personally think glut is good for learning opengl, it let''s you ignore the platform that you are using, and focus only on the opengl code.
