blend out environment-maps

hi! first i have to say that my english isn''t very good. so please don''t hurt me i have included environment-maps in my engine. it also looks very nice on my car. but i recognized that some pieces of the car don''t reflect the environment so much as other pieces. so i decided to work with materials and interpolate the reflection by the values of the material. but i don''t know how to blend out the cubemap so that the reflection isn''t so hard. i hope pixelshading is not the only way. thx for postings
