Creating a dialogue system, I want to display a tree structure (like Windows Explorer). I know how to work with linked lists, so this is not a theoretical problem, much more a question of ease. Is there a C++ class availabe which may be embedded in DirectX? (which is not MFC based)

You can use STL std::list or std::vector, but for a tree structure you can keep a pointer to the sibling and to the child. This approach keeps mem low and you don''t need to manage lists of children or siblings.

In case you still want to use the STL lists, you need to #include <list>
