Library files to include when using DirectInput

When my programs in the linking stage I am getting unresolved external symbols despite having both dinput.lib and dinput8.lib included in the project settings (VC++). Here are the errors - Linking... D3DFunc.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _GUID_SysKeyboard D3DFunc.obj : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _IID_IDirectInput8A dinput.lib(dilib2.obj) : error LNK2001: unresolved external symbol _GUID_Key Debug/D3DApp.exe : fatal error LNK1120: 3 unresolved externals Error executing link.exe. What other library files should I be including?
