What is the best way to do graphics for a spectrum analyzer?

Hello, I am wanting to create a spectrum analyzer in DirectX and I have the FFT stuff ready, and currently I have the frequencies done like a bar graph where I use MatrixScale to change the height but I would rather have a line graph with the inside area filled in. I was thinking I can probably use DrawPrimative with a LINESTRIP, but then I would have to modify each vertex each time which would be very slow, so my question is what would be the best way for this?
