What is nVidia's .CG file?

I''ve downloaded nVidia''s SDK,through it''s CG Browser,I found these is a .cg file format,which source looks like CPP. Who can give a general description on .CG file''s format and what is used for... Any word would be appreciate. We create world.

I aint too clued up on this, but it is for their high-level shader language. It is very complex and aimed at professional developers and allows them to use special features on the new range on nVidia cards. Unless you're a graphics programming whizz it is of no use to you. I'm guessing your not, otherwise you'd know what it is.

It'll only make your head hurt.
