I''m learning DirectX, but think OpenGL is better because of easier development. However, it''s not supported on many computers do to hardware problems. So, is it going to confuse me to learn both DirectX and OpenGL?

Only if you get confused learning Visual Basic, C, Java, PHP and Perl. They are related, but one can get confused remembering the syntax. Learn them both. But I''m gonna start with OpenGL myself so I can get something working quickly.

I dont know if you are talking about OpenGL here, but if you are whoever told you this is a liar, even if openGL had hardware issues which I have never run into and it seems all the Quakes and Unreals never ran into, it would still be supported by many more computers due to the fact its cross platform. It won''t confuse you at all and Id recomend learning them both. Also Directx contains graphics, input, network, sound ect. While OpenGL is just graphics.
