What information do you want to store in it?

At the bare minimum you''d want faces and positional vertices. The rest depends on what you want to do with the model.

The basic format for low poly models is usually vertices, faces, normals, and texture coordinates.

For more advanced model formats you might separate the model into multiple meshes with different materials, or have multiple textures (bumpmaps for example), or you might store LOD information.

Lights are typically part of the scene as a whole, not specific to a model.

As JuNC said ultimately it''s up to you, you''re making the format.
