What would u recommend for openGL when it comes to sprites (Im in ORTHO)... Loading seperate files for every state and texture the quad or load one file process it and then texture the quad with the processed image? I already have a seperate file loader.

sprites are not done with QUADs on modern engines but with GL_POINTS

check out the nv point... extensions

you might want to check oust vn_point_sprite extension but it''s use is VERY limited.. just go with the quads... if you sprites need animation you can try loading them in 3D texture...

You should never let your fears become the boundaries of your dreams.

if u wanna keep it simple use za quad, load the textures and store them in an array. then just cycle them keeping in mind u have to change them at a specific interval (how many FPS the anim has)

i dunno how to do in with gl_points, but point sprites are the new trend so u could do that
