Is it possible to have a console like window up in the background for debugging purposes while running a win32 app? If so, how would I accomplish this? [edited by - Blaste on April 21, 2003 2:00:15 AM]

If you're actually using it for debugging, you can use your IDE's debugger's message window. Look in MSDN for OutputDebugString (I think that's the right function).

How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I''m using borland command line utilities, and textpad for an IDE, how cool is that? I think that I''ll just continue using message boxes, cause they are easy, unless an answer comes up. Thanks for the suggestion though

The Windows Kernel Debugger will allow you to view messages if you aren''t using any other debugger.

That doesn''t seem to work on windows 98, I tried the ME version as well. Neither will install, does it come preinstalled on 98 or can I even get it?

Hehe... I haven''t done development on 98 in a looong time. I doubt it will work. Certainly the ME debugger won''t work. You could try searching the web for an older version.

Hmm... Thanks for your help. I may just create a dialog with a huge listbox, that would work I think. Thanks again for the info I''ll remember that when I get win2k again...
