I know it would be easy to say that game developers have grown in size considerably in the last 20 years from the 1 man show to teams up to 100+ people. However, I''m looking for the hard data. What is a good resource to find the information about the industry growth of developers (and publishers/distributors wouldn''t hurt. Resources requiring paid data would also be appreciated. thanks! -~- X2: Official Site

The trade body should have figures on industry employment as it is one of the major selling points for an industry - how many bums it removes from the unemployment queue. If they do they should be happy to share them with you. http://www.idsa.com/

Then there are the usual suspects (the market research companies). A quick check of a couple of recent reports does not show any sections on industry employment and team growth but they may have that data and be happy to sell it to you.

Have not found many of them but the few I have found are listed here.....
