DirectX and DirectInput Mouse

Hi all, I''m using DirectX7 and i want to use DirectInput to capture the mouse X and Y. This is working for me when i use DirectX8. When i use directx7, when i acquire the mouse it gives me an error that i''m not allowed to do that action or something like that.. What to do? How come? Thanks

It is quite hard to tell you what to do when you don''t tell us what you have done. Are you sure the device is not NULL when you call the Acquire() method i.e. have the device initialization succeded?

Some source whould help...
