The right sized texture

Hi, I''m quite new to DirectX and I''m just experimenting with 2D panels (in Direct3D). When I put my texture on the panel, the edges repeat the opposite side slightly. I''ve tried all of the filtering types, but none of them seem to change much. What I would really like to do is use a measurement in pixels, rather than a fraction of the texture, as I have multiple textures in one file. Any info would be great, thanks.
