vertex fog question

since all my vertices to be rendered are in vertex arrays, am i correct in believing it is impossible for me to specify those vertices as having fog coords or whatever the terminology is... would i have to make a second pass ( so to speak ) rendering some vertices a second time in a non-vertex-array way so that i can use teh fog functions on them? thanks Rob
